LOT launches a direct Warsaw - Marrakech flight

Polish airline LOT Polish Airlines has just inaugurated its first direct connection between Warsaw and Marrakech, marking an important milestone for Morocco’s tourism industry. Launched on October 29, 2025, this new route is set to significantly strengthen travel and economic ties between Poland and Morocco, while making it easier for Polish travelers to reach the Pearl of Southern Morocco.

A new bridge between Poland and Morocco

This air route operates twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as part of LOT’s 2025–2026 winter schedule. Flights are operated on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, connecting Warsaw Chopin Airport with Marrakech Menara Airport.

Flight LO163 departs Warsaw at 9:50 a.m., while the return flight LO164 leaves Marrakech at 3:35 p.m., arriving in Warsaw in the evening. These schedules have been carefully designed to ensure smooth connections with LOT’s wider European network.

The launch of this new route follows months of discussions between the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and LOT Polish Airlines, culminating in a strategic partnership between the two entities. This collaboration reflects their shared ambition to strengthen bilateral relations and take Morocco–Poland cooperation to a new level.

A growth driver for Moroccan tourism and Marrakech

The opening of the Warsaw - Marrakech direct flight represents a major opportunity for Morocco’s tourism economy. With this new route, the Polish national carrier expands its presence in North Africa, providing a new gateway for travelers from Central and Eastern Europe to explore Morocco. This direct connection is expected to have a strong impact on tourist flows between the two countries. It will encourage greater mobility among travelers and business operators, fostering closer ties between both nations. For Morocco’s tourism sector, this link makes Marrakech far more accessible from Poland, eliminating layovers and reducing travel time.

The economic benefits go beyond the aviation industry. This new service will also boost the tourism, hospitality, restaurant, and service sectors in Marrakech, which are preparing to welcome an increasing number of Polish visitors throughout the year.

Marrakech, a favorite destination for Polish travelers

Marrakech continues to captivate European tourists, and Polish visitors are no exception. The Red City, with its vibrant souks, historic palaces, lush gardens, and rich cultural heritage, offers a unique travel experience that increasingly appeals to visitors from Eastern Europe. Marrakech’s mild climate - particularly appreciated during the European winter months - is a major attraction for Polish tourists seeking sunshine and warmth. The city’s UNESCO-listed medina, traditional riads, Jemaa el-Fna Square, and the Majorelle Gardens are among the must-see highlights that draw travelers from around the world.

Beyond the city itself, Marrakech serves as the perfect starting point for exploring Morocco’s natural wonders - from the Atlas Mountains and lush valleys to the Agafay Desert and authentic Berber villages. This diversity of experiences positions Marrakech as a truly complete and enriching travel destination.
